Why don't you just use HTML to edit the paper then import that into Word? It used to work like a charm.

Yes, that worked well, and document.body.style.display="none" before processing gave me an extra 3x overall perf. Now 250ms from 5s!

True, but last I tried XForms implementations weren't up to par with what I wanted them to do (which arguably was complex)

Google Docs is slightly more usable than Office, but unfortunately they didn't rethink business document editing, mostly copied
