Haeckel coined ecology as "the whole science of the relations of the organism to the environment including, in the broad sense, all the conditions of existence." I think the latter part makes it methodologically interesting, too.
(BTW lots of good thinking along these lines in "Ways of Being" too.)

I remember when that Google "study" came out I called it out here as obviously fabricated. At the time, several Googlers defended it, in some cases I think because they honestly but foolishly trusted their employer.
It might be time to draw some conclusions?

How does this work? Almost every browser and OS is paid to drive traffic to Google properties, which captures revenue that then gets shared back to that browser+OS cartel. Everyone's paid off.
