If you're thinking about the fully general case then yes! I think it's untractable. At the very least, a wysiwyg view of a proper document structure is impossible. I've struggled unreasonable amounts of time with that too 😁 But I'm pretty sure that what I have in mind works.

For concreteness purposes, take a gdoc with section structure and have it show the outline on the side. Now we imagine that's editable. Changing the titles: OK. Dragging sections to reorder (such that it moves the text too: I think OK. Adding/deleting: OK. That's all?
