I'm sorry to have to share that Mochi, one of our beloved cats, passed away last night. He was the sweetest of cats and barely over one year old. Our time together was too short. A short thread of memories to share his fluffy kindness.

Mochi was very dedicated to building a digital ecosystem that supports sustainable media and a healthy society. He spent a lot of time in meetings working towards those goals.

He was particularly well-read, even by cat standards. He had a particular fondness of the James C. Scott classic "Sleeping Like A State."

Did someone say sleeping?

For all his kindness, he was also fearless — here facing off a deer and prevailing.

He wouldn't let you take the yoga mat if his sister needed it.

My youngest said that he would turn into a Totoro. I hope he has.
