Yeah, but if pubs don't have enough power to pick gnarly shit or no gnarly shit (we have some, just not enough) then everyone gets some degree of gnarly shit. And if you complain, in so many cases my best answer is "it comes from open market programmatic ¯\_(ツ)_/¯!"
