Maybe, but those laws are hardly being enforced so they don't matter much here. Also, consent only improves privacy under specific conditions that I don't think are likely in this case.

I was just reading @OlufemiOTaiwo about how the convergence of interests between elite and oppressed can be used to speed up justice. Alignment of business and people interests is a powerful special case of that!
