Most European companies have GDPR compliance costs but those headquartered in Ireland operate in a de facto deregulated environment. Ireland is effectively subsidising Big Tech against European SMEs. I don't understand why we tolerate it.

And that's just the business side. European citizens who have their data processed by controllers headquartered in Ireland - which is most of the data of almost all Europeans since that's where Google and friends are - have de facto no data privacy rights.

The @DPCIreland keeps promising change but it's been nothing but delaying tactics. Irish tech policy begins and ends with foreign investment - to the detriment of all Europeans.
