You know what would be a very smart move right now? Buying an aging service with millions of users and turning it into a privacy-friendly social network, bypassing the bootstrap problem. It looks to me like someone might be pretty smart at @SmugMug.

I mean, Flickr was seriously big. When they decided to add support for video it was the most controversial thing on the Internet that week. If they brought it back properly I'd start paying again, and I'm not even into photography.
