I don't think it's not being smart, I think it's hard! Privacy is a right to appropriate flows of information. You can: 1) Deny the right. 2) Not care and be inappropriate. 3) Claim the data is not personal. 4) Claim you know better what's appropriate for the user. All different!

I like "perfidy" because all of these have elements of treachery, there is always a level at which trust is broken, and -fidy is trust (fidelity, fiduciary, etc.) But I still hesitate. It doesn't work without explanation. That may be OK.
