Not reading this as snark at all, I really want this to be a solid discussion (which is why I was looking for a plan!).
Google’s proposal for conversion measurement maintains a unique identifier for people.
So it does nothing (that I can see) for users’ privacy and nothing to protect publishers from having their audiences re-monetised by intermediaries.
It’s unclear to me (but I might have missed an argument) why Google didn’t just adopt Apple’s proposal, apart from NIH?
