And I need to figure out if it's worth dedicating resources to such discussions. The IAB has a track record of: * hostility to users and publishers, * poor tech solutions, * being in denial about privacy. So I'm reading the blog looking for signs that this may have changed.

But I already see several statements that, honestly and without malice, don't make sense from a technical or privacy standpoint. So why do this in the IAB instead of a place that has a track record of getting this roughly right, like the @w3c?
