I think there is definitely something there, but I wonder if there isn't another parameter in the structure of the discussions. Democratic debates, when they work, should lead to consensus (at some time scale). This means they have more of a narrative structure than permafear.

That means they're monetisable but more by narrative media. I'm not sure they're all that monetisable by nonlinear firehose media.
