A Google-only spec with a Google-only implementation is proprietary!
As I've said before, this can be rolled out in workable increments instead of as a diktat. Why not do that if you mean to do this well?

There are ways to get this ball rolling safely. First, introduce them only without SXG. No URL replacement, no serving from other origins. Google has no business serving other people's content. It's hard to imagine opposing the open Web so much you'd want this.♥ 13
