The whole point of issuing requirements (nytimes.github.io/std-cat/) was to open a channel and try to make it clear that we see a path forward. Previous proposals like SXG weren't great, but the hope remains that with the right discussions it can be figured out.

I don't have the resources to evaluate (or even notice) everything that Google sends to the W3C. But if you think there's something promising, I'm more than happy to loop in the right people on our end and see if it's workable!
