@celiabelin covers the continued absurdity of the American travel ban and non-immigrant visas. It is causing needless anguish; it is also making it increasingly hard for businesses to hire qualified, specialised workers who would normally get such visas. washingtonpost.com/outlook/2021/0…

has the power to fix this mess for people and help the economy — it's more than time to use it. The ban and NIE system need to be lifted, at the very least for vaccinated visa holders. To clear the backlog, visa stamps and statuses need to be extended automatically.
