From a publisher's perspective, the advantage of the Web should be that we can have control and independence, whereas on native we have to play by someone else's rules. But in today's Web we have to play by someone else's rules anyway, and give them data and content.
Again, I'm talking about priorities. Sure, APIs are nice, I need zero convincing of that. But the top priority is a Web that isn't Google's other proprietary platform — which is where we sit right now. There's as much value in improving that as there is in improving Android.
