It's really not clear to me that this is user-centric; in fact, the way in which the integration works on Chromebook is extremely frustrating. It also makes users recognised with a single identity across most of the Web which is very user-hostile.

It's a direct competitor to other identity systems, including that of websites, and using the browser to boost an SSO in a way that is detrimental to user privacy isn't great.
