Oh, to be clear: I do think that there are useful distinctions to make between the various ways in which data is shared. 2PD is often just an audience overlap, with no reuse, etc. — that's typically safer than 3PD. In that sense, 0PD is *also* a useful distinction.
Data that people give you on purpose to do a clear thing with is ethically better than data you observe, even 1P. I think that's what @fatemehx2 meant and if so I agree. I was just pointing out that the *naming* of 0PD didn't make the situation any worse than it already was!
In fact, "first party" is already dodgy. Then "second party" threw all logic to the wind. After that, "zero party" isn't a worse name, it just fits into a convention that marketers feel makes sense even if it comes from an initial error!
