I'm neither a philosopher nor a computer scientist, just a random guy on Twitter. I'm just looking at belief as an internal state that reflects a specific external reality ("this was paid for", "Robin went to Harvard").

I'm instrumentally interested in this view because if you remove the mechanism and trick the person, the situation is pretty straightforward. But if the mechanism is relevant, then how the mechanism is tricked could be the relevant part.
