I know you disagree, Alexander. I just figured that if you decided to pick this up again months later you might have a new view. The Charter is very aligned with my values as a European citizen, and aligns with the privacy model I seek to establish.

Notably, the difference between Art.3 that requires informed consent and Art.8 that has a much broader scope (including for consent itself) is IMHO particularly relevant. ePD treats the latter as if it were the former. I think that's a mistake.

Now if there is a revolution in behavioural science or HCI demonstrating rules for consent in the wild, under adversarial assumptions, that are actually guaranteed to support greater autonomy in real people instead of homo economicus I'll be the first to change my mind.
