In-app browsers are highly deceptive to people and steal revenue from publishers. In a just world they would simply die in a ditch, but as a second-best option why aren't regulators cracking down on this with extreme prejudice?

This should serve as a reminder that without stringent fiduciary duties for user agents, we can never have nice things.
