It's of course a prediction but we can ask about current trends. If that's not the end state, what is that app for? Why does it have an in-app browser? That works differently from Chrome? Do you feel funded to not force your users into Google accounts? Into Sync?

To give them better, more informed choices in search? To protect their privacy including aga Google? If you can't do those, why assume you'll be able to prevent the continued slipping towards similarly bad outcomes elsewhere?

If there's real benevolence, how many bad quarterly results separates it from a change of hearts? I'm really not saying this to annoy you, but a credible good future rides on checks and balances that, right now, just aren't there at all. Nothing prevents the bad outcome.
