Is there a name for the phenomenon where a site has enough inherent value that UX can drop w/o *immediate* punishment? Eg @Medium @facebook

I'm guessing "Usage Elasticity" might capture the idea. When the dam breaks, your service collapses. I think FB Messenger has to be close.
