"The commitment to the better at any cost makes the good impossible at any cost." A/B testing has been more harmful to product development than anything else, as we switched from industrial design to industrialised designers.

It's not just designers, but also developers who are being automated. From standardised coding style to agile methods, it's an entire industry that is gladly Taylorising itself.

The decreasing variety and complexity of the digital world is almost certainly making us collectively dumber, right when we need to be smarter. I often wonder if that's the bottleneck that explains the Fermi Paradox. berjon.com/stewardship/
