The problem is how fast that happens. It's probably good that there's only one design for a hammer. It probably took a while to get there. When we take the time to explore an iteration, we have more chances to find its side effects before they become entrenched.

With data-driven design, we settle on a local maximum and entrench it, all with habituation and the sticky effects of maxima, before we know what it does.
